I bought these specifically for my Ipod Touch, 2G. Sound quality is good, they are basically the standard Ipod ear buds. If you’re interested in making Voip calls through your touch, then these are a must. I use them for making phone calls through Skype (using the Fring app). They work perfectly out of the box (and yes, it is hard to open!) I called my husband’s cell phone and he reported my sound quality being just fine. It’s too bad that they don’t work on my Mac too…

I bought this product initially for my iPod Touch 2nd Gen to use with new iPod Touch Skype application. I am a heavy user of Skype and was missing mobility feature of Skype and mic in iPod Touch. Now both are full filled. I can now receive and make VOIP calls using Skype from my iPod Touch and Apple earphone Remote with Mic. The best part is, I also have a MacBook Aluminum (late 2008), when I plugged the headphone into MacBook, it worked flawlessly. Now I can even control iTunes (volume, paly/pause and track forward only) from the little remote and can use the mic with Skype, Yahoo Messenger, GTalk and other audio related application. Initially I was planning to buy Apple in-ear headphone with remote & mic, which costs . Then thought it’s not worth it, as by paying more I can buy a Bose in-ear headphone. But this Apple Earphone is really 4 in 1 – Headphone + Remote + Microphone + Spare headphone for iPod Touch. Recommend this product if you have iPod Touch 2nd Gen and/or MacBook/Pro Aluminum. Don’t buy it if you have iPod Touch 1st Gen or MacBook white, it won’t work.

When I bought it, I had my suspicions on its authenticity. , though, it was worth a try. It froze up my iPod (itouch 2nd gen.)-temporarily-as in the “slide to unlock” didnt respond to touch,…and, to top it all off, it didn’t charge it. So basically I paid to have my iPod messed up.

The picture on amazon is the same pic that apple posted. I zoomed in on it-the thing is 200% fake. If you look carefully, some words are spelled wrong-”designd” and “equipmnet” It also makes a weird clicking sound when its plugged in.

This comes stock with the iPhone 3G, phone charges really fast. The only reason I docked a star is the prongs don’t fold down.

A few things to note:

1) Why is this on Amazon, and only from Apple? More so, why is a freaking power adapter !!! Part of the answer might be…

2) Beware of after-market (used/ebay/etc) power adapters. There was a recall on these back in September. The new (replacement) ones have a small green dot on the side with the prongs. You can’t just buy a cheapo off ebay and take it in for an exchange, because Apple requires the serial # from the phone.

3) Older dock chargers and wall warts don’t work on the iPhone 3G (they changed the pin config around for the iPhone 3G) but I used my older iPOD USB cables and this wall wart adapter and the phone charged just fine.

This item was purchased on the 16th of Dec and recieved on the 23rd of Dec. I was uncertain that it would be compatible with the 2nd gen. iPod Touch as some people had mentioned in their reviews that some products, though advertised to be compatible, did not work properly with their iPod. I found that both chargers (car/wall) function as advertised. Item shipped/arrived as expected and works great. Sure beats the wall charger from the apple store as I now have one for the car to boot for one low price. Look at it this way, you can buy three of these things for the same price as one individual wall charger from the apple store and you still wouldn’t have a car charger. In my opinion, it’s a no-brainer.

It annoys me how Apple changed their products such that you have to connect them to your computer and sync it in order to charge the new iPods. Such a waste! So a stand-alone charger was on my mind. I held a few reservations with this item–as I didn’t recognize the manufacturer or the vendor. But I’m glad to report that I’m quite happy with the purchase. It does exactly what it claims to do (charges iTouch 2G) and at a much cheaper price than the AppleStore. No reason not to buy it.

Update: AC Charger quit working about 7 months after purchase. For the price, it still may be worth it.

After a whole lot of research and paranoia over my new iPhone 3GS I bought the Speck Candyshell, and it’s awesome. Not only do I feel the phone is protected, but it still looks just as sleek. This case does not take away from Apple’s design quality, it merely protects it. The rubber inside doesn’t scratch the iPhone and in case you drop it, the rubber will absorb the hit so that your phone doesn’t. It came with a protective film for the screen but after applying it, I didn’t like the look and feel so I took it off. The glass screen is one of the most attractive features of the iPhone, and putting plastic over it just isn’t for me. I figure if the screen breaks I can get it replaced for about at a repair store, and I can insure the device for a year through my insurance carrier, which is much better than AppleCare because AppleCare doesn’t protect you from spills, drops, etc… whereas insurance does. My advice is to buy a Speck Candy Shell for protection and Insurance for peace of mind, and those two together are less than AppleCare.

I got this case to replace my incase Slider (which after only a few weeks had started scratching the chrome bezel and back of my brand new 3gs). I have been very pleased so far.

It has a very snug, solid fit. It is not as slim as the Slider, but provides two layers of drop protection at only a hair more thickness. Best of all it does not add new scratches to my phone. It’s not perfect, though: the vibrate switch cut-is not quite the right shape, as other reviewers have mentioned the earphone jack cutout is too small for some headphones (not a problem for me since I use the standard set), it’s not terribly easy to get out of the case (but is really much easier than some reviews I have seen have suggested), and a few other things. But really, these are very, very minor issues.

The main thing is that it protects my iPhone without damaging it and is a pleasure to use. For example, a small touch that is really nice is that the part of the chrome bezel that is flush with the front of the phone is left visible rather than being hidden under dull plastic. This tiny detail makes using my iPhone much more enjoyable and more like the experience that it would be without a case.

Which brings me to a more general point for those of you who may read this and are having a hard time choosing the right case: no case is perfect, and corollary to that, no case is going to beat a naked iPhone. But this case by Speck is really close to being perfect and very likely the best experience after using the iPhone itself without the absolutely necessary protective case.

These work fine for me. They are decent headphones; not the best range but OK for the price. No one has had any problem hearing me when I call them and the hold button works well. When my original pair where destroyed by my dog, I really didn’t want to spend on a new set.

PROS: They work and they are inexpensive.

CONS: Sound quality is only decent.

I would purchase these again.

i really, really hate this thing… it has brought only frustration into my life. I’ve hade them for a month already and they are the worse thing i have ever bought… for the price i should have known better, at least i didn’t pay much for them. let’s go for the facts: 1)they fit weirdly in my ears (that could mean that the problem is me, but i’ve had earbuds before and no problem), none of the different size ear cushions fits right. 2) click button doesn’t do ANYTHING. 3) when i’m listening to music and a call comes in and i answer people don’t hear anything, the mic is horrendous. if i unplug the headset to use the phone normally, the call is terminated. even if i try to unplug it BEFORE answering, the call is terminated.

This item does not work with the Iphone 3G and Ipod touch 3G as advertised. Probably the reason why it is being sold for 1 cent.

The reason for this is because Apple decided to make things complicated for everyone and no longer support both 12V and 5V charging. Accessory Manufacturers were apparently warned about this 1 year in advance but whoever is selling this item on amazon is falsely advertising it as compatible with the newest generation iPhones and iPod touch.

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM IF YOU OWN A 3G IPHONE OR IPOD TOUCH.

I love this product! It is very easy to use, and it makes listening to music/talking on the phone much easier in the car. The ‘snake arm’ adjusts to fit the power outlet in my car, and there is a tilt ability for the actual holder. This fits my iPhone 3G with a thick case on. It can also adjust smaller than that for a regular iPod. The sound quality is near perfect – you just have to turn up the radio a little higher than normal. The FM transmitter adjusts to any FM channel.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. This isn’t a name brand product, but I would consider it comparable to one. I’ve been looking to buy one for a little while now, and have seen them going for and up. This is a steal at !

My Nano is a 4th generation (just before the ones with cameras). Additionally, it wasn’t packaged very well by the seller “Super Deal”. I suspect some will arrive broken as a result. Other sellers may do a better job with the packaging.

I have owned a lot of different headphones for my iPhones. I use mine for commute on train for music and audio books/podcasts, in the car for calls, and at the gym for music/other audio content.

These are the most expensive headphones/earbuds with a mic I’ve owned, but I have used the Sony fontopias as well as a Sennheiser in ear plug as well as bud, Skull Candy buds and plugs, as well as some “made in China” Apple and Sony knock-offs you can get for .99 per pair here or on eBay.

These are the best sounding headphones, buds or plugs I have heard on my iPhone, and easily the best earphones/plugs with a mic. The price is not inconsiderable, but worth it if you want nuanced sounds, clear highs, and powerful but not ridiculous bass. These are rather audiophile quality, without a doubt. Very, very impressive sound. Very efficient – quite acceptably loud for most content at half or slightly better than half volume setting.

The highs are clear, which is usually the knock on ear plug style ‘phones( better than the Sony fontopias which are boomy bass and unclear highs), midrange is balanced, lows are powerful, full, but not boomy or overpowering. Just a warm, rich sound. Very nice.

The build quality is superior to any similar product. Two weeks into it and they are sturdy, and just work. Very, very cool looking. I feel like a guy listening to 0 ear plugs. Very excellent ambient noise reduction, and reasonably comfy fit.

If the cable is allowed to flop on your chest when you run or work out, you DO get the cable thump sound. Secure the cable or loop the phones around the back of your head. I have not found this to be an impediment to my using them to spend 30 or 40 min on the treadmill, or doing resistance training with machines and weights.

Fabulous purchase. I will likely never switch to a different brand or consider an “upgrade” because even at twice the price, these are in the plug-style buds with a mic to beat. And nothing I’ve used comes close.

I got these to replace the Apple whites for my iPhone which I use a lot and on the go with them everywhere. The J3m sound great when I am sitting still. But the highly sensitive cables which give you that stethoscope feedback make these a no go for talking n walking or listening to tunes while on a run. The banging heartbeat of the cables against you while you walk or run will make your head throb. I really wish they had volume control like the apple ones especially because the do such a good job of blocking outside sounds. I may have to resort back the apple ones for everyday use and return these and get the cheaper non mic’d version for airplane travel because they do sound much better than the apple’s.

Bottom line: nice ear buds for listening to music but not good for multi-use mobile phones.

This is a great looking case. I really liked the metallic, yet somehow soft, red finish. In addition, it’s molded around the front of the case in such a way as to expose a bit of the chrome frame around the edge of the phone which is a nice touch. I’ve received many compliments on it. l I was concerned about the ring “button” on the back being a problem but it hasn’t been an issue. My only complaint is that it’s a bit difficult to remove the bottom half of the case if you want to use the phone in a dock. It’s certainly easier than most cases, but not quite as nice as the Slider Incase Slider Case for iPhone 3G – Black (CL59055). But the incredible appearance and lower bulk of this case more than outweigh that disadvantage.

Pros:

Goes on and off easily.

Can remove the bottom half to use a dock.

Easy access to all controls.

Fits snugly to the phone and locks on.

Has “felt” pads inside to protect the phone’s finish.

Allows the chrome edge of the phone to be seen.

Cons:

Release button on the back makes the phone rock slightly when typing on a hard surface.

Removing the bottom to dock isn’t quite as easy as I’d like.

Good looking case, great price. I was so happy the day I got it and for the first 7 days. Normally I take covers off to clean phone and rid it of any dust trapped behind. To my horror the backside was badly scratched after the first removal. Now every time I pull the cover off, many new scratches appear around the curved edges and around the camera lense. My more expensive contour cover had never scratched the back of the phone before but it is now trashed thanks to the I frogz product. Looks good, works OK!

The Kensington battery Amazon is selling is model K33396US. Amazon just shipped me the K38021/K33396, but the packaging still has K33396US printed on it. Why is this important? The K33396US has a battery charger designed for travel abroad. It has two European style plug adaptors that slip into the battery charger. The K38021/K33396 has a fixed battery charger with a US only plug.

I think Kensington decided to save a few pennies by reducing the product’s capabilities and then saved even more money by not changing the packaging or UPC. But not telling Amazon to update the model number on their product page? Not nice!

I can absolutely confirm that this works withthe iPhone 3G.

After searching around trying several devices including the Duracell PowerSource Mini which did not work, and various “USB charging

solutions which did not work, I sent an e-mail to Kensingtion. They confirmed to me that this works with the iPhone 3G. So I went to the Apple store to buy it.

Pros:

- USB charging port withs with the iPhone 3G

- Wall AC Adapter with USB port also charges the iPhone 3G

- Comes with a sync / charge cable that syncs fine with a PC, but also charges in PC USB port, battery pack, and Wall AC USB charger. Also, this cable does NOT need to have the sides depressed (just like the Apple USB sync cable), which is nice for easy insertion and removal.

- Battery pack is nice and small and light.

- Comes with everything you need to charge the iPhine and recharge the battery pack.

The fit is VERY tight, maybe too tight, but the phone doesn’t slide around at all in the case. I tried a different case that was a little loose. It broke during shipping and I bought one of these.

The button on the back that clips in is just a hair shy of being flush, the case seems just a tad too small vertically, but it stays put. The case is hard to remove, but I don’t see myself removing it often.

It comes with a plastic screen protector. It looks okay, I suspect it would get scratched up pretty quickly. I bought an Invisible Shield from Zagg and put that on instead.

The case is a little grippy which is nice, but it doesn’t attract lint or make it too hard to pull out of a pocket.

access to buttons and ports is easy. a buddy of mine bought two of these for him and his wife, they enjoy them as well. nice metallic finish to the upper part, a flat black to the bottom.

Purchased an iFrogs Luxe case the same day I purchased my iPhone 3Gs, and at first was impressed. The case fit nicely, and everything lined up as it should. Initial impressions were positive ones. It protected well, and wasn’t difficult to remove from pockets at all. Should be a 5 star review then. Then came the bad…

I own a white iPhone 3Gs. White phones show things a black phone won’t. My phone showed that the coloring of the iFrogz Luxe is PAINTED on, and not a molded in color. 1 week after purchase I took the case off, and noticed that I had blue PAINT on my new white iPhone from the case! I was furious. This revelation showed two relative flaws in this case.

1) Color is not permanent on this case. It will rub off onto your phone

2) the placement of the color shows that it seems to placing pressure on the upper edges of my iPhone and creating a wear/friction spots on both the case and the plastic portion of the iPhone.

There are better cases on the market than this, but there are also worse cases. Final tally? A 3 out of 5
